On the afternoon of Day 1 and all of Day 2, delegates were transported in groups of 30 to four locations.

At each location, they attended 1.5-hour presentations/tours at each location. 

The aim of these sessions was to illustrate "whole of system change" in action within the Canterbury health system. 

 

Pegasus Health
Acute Demand Management

In this presentation, delegates heard about the structure, design, measurement, and flexing mechanisms applied to this vital part of the Canterbury health system and the teamwork required to drive these programmes to deliver successful outcomes.

Christchurch Operations Centre
Using Data to Manage System Flows and Capacity

In this tour at the Operations Centre at Christchurch Hospital delegates saw and heard about the use of the decision support tools used in the Canterbury health system, why and how clinicians use them, and the impact they have of patient flows and health system performance.

Meet Your Writers and HealthPathways Under the Bonnet

The HealthPathways Community is facilitated and supported by Streamliners. The team at Streamliners is an extension of each member’s own HealthPathways work-programme team. 

During this visit to Streamliners delegates met team leaders and technical writers involved in HealthPathways, saw some of the technology involved in its production, and experienced the brand new purpose built Streamliners HQ.
