Dr Louise Delaney

Clinical Editor, Illawarra Shoalhaven HealthPathways
NSW Regional Group Clinical Advisor
HealthPathways National Clinical Advisor (Australia)

Louise is a general practitioner in the Illawarra region of NSW and has worked as a Clinical Editor since early 2015. At the start of 2017, she was invited to develop the role of Regional Clinical Advisor and has received great support and patience from the NSW teams in this project.

Louise graduated from University of NSW in 1991 planning to follow a surgical career and after working in emergency, paediatrics and obstetrics roles, achieved a training position in obstetrics and gynaecology. She chose to leave training due to family commitments, but continued to work in obstetrics as a GP obstetrician for several years. Louise’s special interest in general practice continues to be women’s health.

Over the past three years, HealthPathways has become a work passion for Louise, discovering real opportunity for GPs to influence change towards integrated health. She has found this wonderful resource to be a great platform for creative thinking and collaboration with peers and frequently finds herself spread a little thinly between enthusiastic projects.
