HealthPathways in Australia continues to grow from strength-to-strength, with three Queensland regions recently celebrating the launch of their HealthPathways websites.

Brisbane North, Central Queensland, and Wide Bay are the latest additions to HealthPathways in Australia – bringing the total up to an impressive twenty-five Australian regions.

Brisbane North HealthPathways

The launch of Brisbane North’s HealthPathways website featured the screening of a locally-produced video on the HealthPathways initiative to a gathering of more than 80 GPs and practice managers.

It was one of several presentations delivered at a GP Breakfast Briefing coinciding with this year’s Metro North Health Forum, Brisbane’s premier event for healthcare professionals.

The video features HealthPathways Community Chief Clinical Editor Dr Graham McGeoch and Dr John Bennett, a local clinical editor, who also spoke at the launch.

Dr Bennett said HealthPathways helps to improve continuity of patient care.

“That’s very important. We all struggle to try and provide that for our patients and I really believe genuinely [that] this product can help us do that,” Dr Bennett said.

Tracey Wills Vashishtha, Brisbane North Clinical Coordinator, is also looking forward to seeing the benefits of HealthPathways in action.

“The HealthPathways journey has been really exciting for us so far. The Brisbane North PHN has worked closely with Metro North Hospital and Health Service – so it’s a really positive example of collaboration between federal and state-funded agencies.”

Central Queensland HealthPathways

The Central Queensland launch event not only celebrated the go live of the Central Queensland HealthPathways website but also incorporated a presentation from the Central Queensland Health Service District.

Sarah Smith, Central Queensland HealthPathways Coordinator, says that the launch was an emphatic success.

“It was really great to host a number of local GPs, practice managers, and allied health providers alongside our local Hospital and Health Service Executive Team and the Director General of Queensland Health. It was a fantastic representation of all the parties involved with HealthPathways in our communities,” says Sarah.

Sarah says that the enthusiasm for HealthPathways is evident in the quality of the pathways that are currently being localised.

“We are immensely proud of the quality of our HealthPathways site – we’ve had really great feedback from GPs and we are looking forward to taking it to the wider region.”

Wide Bay HealthPathways

The Wide Bay HealthPathways team adopted a soft-launch of their HealthPathways website in advance of a full-launch planned for this week.
