Streamliners is excited to share this news with community members and media.

Streamliners announces HealthPathways expansion in Canada with Ontario Health Teams collaboration, welcoming Greater Hamilton, Burlington, and London Middlesex into the global community.

A global clinical guidance tool developed in Christchurch, New Zealand that improves health equity and reduces waiting list times will soon be available in Ontario, Canada.

HealthPathways now provides the latest global evidence on more than 600 conditions to clinicians in 60 health systems around Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

HealthPathways gives GPs instant guidance, including what questions to ask and what treatments are available. This is combined with hyper-local information including what specialist care is available for patients in their region.

HealthPathways was introduced in Wales last year via the NHS. The methodology for the creation of national pathways of care was implemented on the back of the demonstrable impact of HealthPathways use within Cardiff and Vale.

HealthPathways is delivered by Streamliners, 80% of which is owned by the Joined Up Systems Trust (JUST), whose mission is to support integration of health and social services.

The launch by Streamliners of HealthPathways in Canada marks a milestone for integrated health systems. By working closely with three Ontario Health Teams (OHTs), Streamliners and HealthPathways are introducing a proven model that enhances health outcomes through a collaborative approach.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Greater Hamilton, Burlington and London Middlesex, three Ontario Health Teams into our global community. This partnership is an opportunity for our global network to share existing knowledge and processes so that we can continue to deliver on our purpose - to improve the health and wellbeing of people around the globe,” says Stella Ward, Streamliners CEO.

Local teams, global expertise

Streamliners is looking forward to leveraging its worldwide expertise to work in Canada. The on-the-ground presence will ensure that HealthPathways remains tailored to the specific needs and challenges of Canadian clinicians and patients, while also tapping into Streamliners’ international expertise. Ward says “This expansion broadens the global HealthPathways Community and brings Canadian healthcare perspectives into an international dialogue, benefiting all members of the HealthPathways Community.”

Acknowledgments and partnerships

This exciting development could not have been possible without the contributions of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and is an excellent first step in our strategic collaboration with Orion Health, says Stella. “Together, we are building a foundation for a sustainable and scalable integrated health system across Canada and globally.”

Craig Hudson, GM Export Customers at NZTE says “Exporting is critical to New Zealand’s economy delivering $95b, supporting 1 in 4 jobs and sharing New Zealand’s expertise and innovation with the world. The government has a goal to double the value of exports over ten years to grow New Zealand’s economy and NZTE is working closely with businesses to support this. The Streamliners expansion into Canada is a great example of this in action and we are incredibly proud of their achievements to improve the health and wellbeing of people around the globe.”

Industry recognition at NAIC

The recent Calgary North America Conference on Integrated Care (NAIC) event underscored the ongoing importance of Streamliners’ offerings to health systems worldwide. “We’re excited to continue developing solutions that are valued globally by healthcare professionals and contribute to health system innovation,” added Dr David Hambleton, Managing Director Streamliners Canada UK and Ireland.
