While wider Victoria welcomes new regions into the HealthPathways fold, Melbourne continues to make positive strides towards the merger of its two HealthPathways sites.
In late March, attendees from the former Melbourne and Eastern Melbourne teams met with delegates from the Canterbury HealthPathways Team for a workshop about improving coordination, opportunities to improve the combined Melbourne HealthPathways site, and other issues.
Eastern Melbourne PHN Acting Manager Clinical Care Pathways Richard Penberthy says the visit from the Canterbury HealthPathways Team was a very beneficial experience for all involved.
“Learning about the strategic direction and ongoing improvement opportunities that are coming up specifically around the Service Provider Directory, improving mobile compatibility, and continuing the work for further integration with medical practice software was of great benefit to our team.
“This knowledge informs our team that HealthPathways is continually evolving and making positive strides to better assist our local health professionals.”
Delegates from the Canterbury HealthPathways Team included Streamliners CEO Ian Anderson, Melbourne Lead Writer Graeme Wilson, and HealthPathways Chief Clinical Editor Graham McGeoch, who gave a mentoring session to Melbourne’s clinical editors.
“Our clinical editors found the session especially beneficial with regards to reviewing a specific pathway as it offered the opportunity to further improve their capabilities in writing clinical content for the website,” Richard says.
As well as being able to discuss issues such as efficiency, site evaluations, and whole of system change, Ian says attending the workshop was a great chance for the Melbourne team to meet their lead writer.
“The meeting was about processes and ideas sharing for how the expanding team can coordinate, but it was also beneficial for us to be there because, among other reasons, it gave Graeme and the CEs a wonderful opportunity to meet each other.”
