Your Community Needs You

Published on 29 Apr, 2016 | Return|
Tell us what's happening in your region

HealthPathways Community News is taking things to the next level with more news, more features, more advice, and more opportunities to collaborate with other regional HP teams.

But this can only be done with your help – we need to know what’s happening in your region so we can get the word out.

Editorial writer Tim Grey is encouraging HealthPathways program managers and coordinators to get in touch if they have something to shout about, a question they think the wider HP community could help with, or anything in-between.

“I know from professional experience how hard it can be to see the true value of a story. But when it comes to targeted niche content like this, even things you regard as everyday may be of interest to other teams.

“If you’ve just published a challenging or unique pathway for instance, an editorial story could give the wider community the chance to find out more beyond the Summary of Change in Dot. You can talk about the challenges you faced, how you overcame them, and the common issues you think the pathway poses clinicians.”

Introducing new formats

It’s not just pathway case studies the HealthPathways Community News team are looking at producing - infographics, quizzes, and videos could also be on the cards. It’s just a case of knowing what works for the community.

“If there’s a content format you’d like to see used more, also let us know. We want to optimise HealthPathways Community News for our audience as much as we can, so any feedback around the type of content you’d like to see online is really welcome,” Tim says.

“We have an online news portal and discussion forums available to connect HealthPathways program managers, clinical editors, and coordinators from across Australia and New Zealand - and we’ll soon be joined by new teams from the UK and Canada as well - so it’s time to put these tools to good use.”
