Latest Dot and HealthPathways Directory updates

Today, Streamliners released several updates, including:

  • In all Dot projects:
    • enabling more than one person to be selected with feedback thread filters
    • increasing per page result options on feedback lists
  • In HealthPathways Dot project:
    • adding a new page type called “Section”
    • allowing users to export lists of Reviews and partial updates and Feedback to Excel
  • In the HealthPathways Directory:
    • styling and layout changes

We’re also notifying HealthPathways teams that next year we intend to remove two rarely used Dot fields in a release yet to be scheduled.

Dot - all projects

Feedback page person filters now allow more than one person to be selected

We’ve improved how users can work with feedback threads. You can now filter feedback to provide an overview of threads assigned to more than one specific person in your team, using the “Currently With” and “Streamliners” (person assigned) fields.

There is no limit to how many people you can select – simply tick the people you want to include in your report.

If you want to find all feedback threads that have been assigned to a specific person, you can now do this with a new single selection option, called “All Assigned”. Threads that have no one assigned to them will be excluded.

You can save your new selections through “My Filters” in the usual way, and any previous filters you have set will still remain.

For more information, see Find Feedback Threads in Online Help.

More Feedback items can be shown per page

We’ve made it easier for users to obtain an overview of their feedback, by increasing the number of results that display per page.

In addition to the previous per page results on the main feedback list (8,12, 25, 50, 100), you can now choose 250, 500, or 1000 per page.

Note that changing the setting to any number larger than 100 may result in the page loading more slowly.

Each time you change the number of results you want, this will become the default for your next search.

For more information, see Find Feedback Threads in Online Help.

HealthPathways Dot project

New 'Section’ page type

In response to suggestions from HealthPathways teams and Streamliners technical writers, feedback that applies to more than one pathway in a section can now be linked to a new page type called "Section".

For example, feedback that applies across the Cardiology group of pathways can now be linked to the Cardiology Section page, rather than having to link to an individual pathway, e.g. Chest Pain.

Section pages won’t appear in Pathway Sharing or Pathways Changes reports and other reports by default.

You can hide Section page results from the Review Dates Report. Section pages won’t appear by default in the Pathway Progress and Pathways Details reports, although you can adjust the report filters if you’d like to include them, by selecting “Section Page”.

While the new “Section” page type is visible now in Dot, the functionality for providing feedback through the page will not be available until next year.

Ability to export Review / partial updates records lists, and Feedback lists

Regional coordinators have requested more flexibility when working with lists, e.g. the ability to use Excel spreadsheets to sort and prioritise data.

Users can now export some lists to Excel. The exported fields will match the selected filters.

Clinical editors and coordinators can export Reviews and partial updates lists to Excel.

All Dot users can export Feedback lists to Excel. The exported results will display a new “Last Set SNZ to action” column, making it easier to see when the work was sent to Streamliners technical writing teams to action.

For more information, see Find Feedback Threads, and Find a Review or Partial Update in Online Help.

Notification of our intention to remove two fields in the next Dot Release

We’re planning to remove two fields in a Dot Release in the first quarter of 2019, as our analysis indicates that they are rarely used:

  • Task Size on a pathway record
  • Feedback Type on a feedback record

If you need to record task size, you could use the Progress Note field.

If you have any questions or feedback on this change, please discuss this with your lead writer.

HealthPathways Directory

Styling and layout changes

In October, we advised you about future styling and layout changes to the HealthPathways Directory.

We planned these changes in response to HealthPathways user requests to emphasise referral information, and reduce the risk of HealthPathways users accidently using service contact details for referral. For more details, see the October Dot Update.

After the October notification you provided more valuable suggestions, which we’ve now incorporated:

  • we’ve made the referral information more prominent, with the other information still easily accessible
  • as long service notes were taking a lot of screen space, we’ve now shortened them, with a Read more… option

If you have any questions about this update, please have a chat with your lead writer.
