Clinical Impacts, Audits, and Improvements

HealthPathways can be used to enable system changes and improvements, which can reduce variation in care and improve health equity.

For example, following the launch of a new pathway, you can use case-by-case audits of patient cohorts to assess if the pathway affected outcomes as expected.

This is meticulous work, and ideally your programme normally collects metrics automatically. In practice, the data often sits in multiple systems or on paper and requires manual extraction. Ethics approval and clinical evaluation and impact assessments may also be required. This is to make sure that any proposed system redesigns don't have adverse effects.

Metrics used in system redesigns and clinical improvements may be depend on context, the specific pathway, and the clinical changes.
